Itsy Bits
What are some good “spreads” a 10 month old can eat?

Like on toast. I always put the tinest little itsy bit of butter on her toast ( she just started eating solids not to long ago ) and when I went to my WIC appointment they yelled at me and told me no butter. I just don’t know wha else to put on there cause she doesn’t care for it plain and I though you weren’t supposed to use jam/jelly because of all the sugars?
**ALSO** They said spiral noodles are good for starter food but no red sauce, why????? And what can I put on it instead?
What is hummus LOL? Everybod is suggesting it and I have no idea what it is….is it Lebanese? ( forgive my spelling )

No red sauce because tomatoes are very acidic and can give her really bad diaper rash.

She can have butter, especially if she’s had it without an allergic reaction. You can do jam/jelly, but I agree with you–too much sugar. You can give her dry toast–she doesn’t really know the difference. If you decide to go with a jam, go with something natural with no sugar added.

She can have guacamole or even just smashed avocado, and she can also do hummus. Both are extremely healthy and are spreadable!
